Integrating a Printable Company Fact Sheet into Your Web Site

You have a web site that contains tons of information about your
company and it products or services. Why would you need an additional
fact sheet for your site? There are three good reasons why this very
simple tactic is worth the time and relatively low cost.
-
Control of design
and formatting when printed
-
Convenience to
web site user
-
Boosts in search
engine positioning due to keywords contained in fact sheet
Most sites are not designed to be printer-friendly; they are
designed to read online – that is, to be browser-friendly. However,
the reality is that a lot of people still want a hard copy of the
information they find. So, they hit "print" in their browser menu and
take what comes out. Often the result includes text that is cut off
on the side or is divided among multiple pages with the once careful
formatting losing its effect when printed. In short, your site user
ends up walking away with a marketing piece that falls short of what
you would prefer. A pre-designed, printable PDF fact sheet eliminates
this problem and ensures that users have an easy and branded way to
print and retain hard copy information about your company. This work
has the added benefit of making it easy for your site users to get
what they want.
Finally, the major search engines now index and return results
beyond just html pages, including additional file types such as PDF
files. If the PDF file contains text that is loaded with keywords
relevant to your business and services (which a company fact sheet
would most certainly contain), you get the additional benefit of
boosts search engine placement for those keywords. Try a Google
search for my name, Alli Denning. As of the writing of this article,
the number one result is my company’s fact sheet.
Information to include in this fact sheet would include: logo,
general company information, services provided, product or services
images, customer testimonials, and contact information, including your
web site address. To view a sample one-page company fact sheet,
